The number of international patents granted to Barokes' Vinsafe® wine packaging system continue to grow with both the Indian & Indonesian patents granted recently.

The recent success of Barokes Wines in a number of international wine shows this year has been outstanding! In the past few months, Barokes have won medals in the following international wine competitions: 2008 Pacific Rim International Wine Competition, California (USA); 2008 San Diego International Wine Show, California (USA); 2008 Femmes et Vins due Monde Concours International, Monaco; 2008 International Wine Challenge, London; 2008 San Francisco International Wine Competition (USA); 2008 Indy International Wine Competition, Indiana (USA); 2008 Wine & Spirits Asia, Singapore; and 2008 Wine Masters Challenge, Portugal. These medals add to the growing list of accolades which Barokes can claim globally, including a number of additional wine show medals and sensational industry and media reviews. In 2007 Barokes wines won medals at the 2007 International Wine & Spirit Competition and the 2007 International wine Challenge, both held in London. These medals are a clear confirmation of the premium quality of Barokes’ innovative range of wines currently taking global markets by storm and clearly positions the Vinsafe® technology as the leading wine in a can packaging system globally. No other wine in a can product currently on the market has achieved this level of international recognition!

The wine/packaging industry is now embracing what the Vinsafe® technology can do and is keen to work with Barokes to build this global category. A number of major Australian wine producers have recently produced a canned wine under a Vinsafe® license, while Barokes continue discussions with other Australian, US and European wineries that want to use the proven Vinsafe® technology.

Barokes has also appointed Australian global packaging company, Visy Beverages, to manufacture cans to the Vinsafe® specification and Copack filling facility is licensed to package wine in can products to Vinsafe® specifications.

As the only globally recognised wine in a can packaging system backed up by over 10 years of R&D, Vinsafe® ensures wine producers, filling companies and can producers can safely enter this category and grow their brands through new market segments. "Reputable wineries will not risk their brands or reputations by using unproven, copy or non time tested technology provided by can manufacturers etc. Wineries that have been mislead have found themselves unsupported (eg. by those can manufacturers that are not using Vinsafe®) when faced with possible litigation as the Patents are globally based and retrospective from 2001", said Barokes CEO, Greg Stokes.
